Overview

Kapwing, a leading online content creation platform, is seeking a highly skilled Content Editor to help audit marketing landing pages during a three-month full-time contract.

The ideal candidate will have outstanding SEO knowledge, proven experience in writing and updating landing pages, and a strong ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Key responsibilities include daily content production, learning new tools quickly, and contributing to the overall editorial direction. The aim is to maintain and win back positions of previously top-ranking pages. Experience in editorial SEO is a must, while a background in technology, video editing, AI, or similar fields, is highly desired.

Scope of work: 

Craft copy for new landing pages. As the space for content and video marketing space exponentially grows, our team is constantly improving features and developing new tools. You will write copy for a /tools landing page, as needed, featuring its benefits, value propositions, and related tools. Net new landing pages can be up to 800-1000 words. 

Convert old pages to a new template. We have a new template to host our tools pages, which includes more multimedia embeds, text, and FaQs. You will edit existing Tools pages and update from one template to another, not only transferring information but sharpening the content as you go through new SEO research and language improvement.

• Content editor or SEO editor with 3+ years of experience maintaining landing pages
• A team player who is effective at hitting daily and weekly deadlines, and never afraid to ask questions
• A creative writer who understands how to balance SEO and marketing concepts

Responsibilities

• Content Creator: Update landing pages as instructed by the Content Strategist on a weekly workflow. This may also include the creation of new landing pages.
• Content Moderator: Lean on your own initiative and experience to update content through data analytics, keyword prioritization, and research tools such as SemRush.
• Collaborator: Work closely with the Content Strategist to hit deadlines, quickly overcome knowledge gaps, and make SEO recommendations.

Requirements

• Proven experience (3+) in journalism or marketing with a love for in-depth storytelling and highly-original content. Preferably in the role of SEO writer, SEO editor, or similar. 
• Has created, maintained, and effectively increased the visibility and usability of countless landing pages.
• Exceptional ability in journalism and editing, with a strong understanding of SEO concepts.
• Passion for and interest in AI and new technologies.
• High attention to detail and reliability.
• Ability to work remotely or from San Francisco (Hours are 5am-1pm PT or similar)

Preferred Qualifications

• Education: BSc/BA in journalism, marketing or a relevant field
